Uses
Advair is commonly used to treat conditions such as asthma, COPD, and emphysema. Advair contains two different medications which are called fluticasone and salmeterol. Fluticasone acts as a steroid to decrease inflammatory mediators within the lungs. Salmeterol helps to relax and dilate the cells in your lungs which increases oxygen flow. This is a very effective medication when used as prescribed, and should be taken at regular intervals. It is not meant to be used as a rescue inhaler during sudden asthma attacks.
